In accordance with the powers and duties of the Local Authority, when a child is taken into care and become Looked After Children (LAC) The underlying principle in the law is that the best place for most children to be brought up is in their own family, with the state providing reasonable support when a child is vulnerable or in need.
So, provided it is in your child's best interests, an arrangement for your child to live with someone in your family network will be preferred to them being placed with unrelated carers, even if your child is looked after in the care system.
So why then did Oxford Social Services DENY this opportunity for my children to be raised within an extended family who wanted and asked specifically to care for them?
Why did they "corporately kidnap" my children by withholding contact with their extended family? Just cutting the children's grandparents, aunts and uncles off without discussion or notice!
